Let me tell you, I felt pretty cool walking into KITH Treats. And I felt “cool” the whole time I was there – even though I was just eating cereal. Ronnie Fieg, the owner and creator of the KITH brand, has officially created the first cereal bar in NYC (yet another trend brought to the bandwagon of trends). However, I must say, I loved it. I am jumping on this bandwagon.

What I loved most were all the details. For starters, there is an express window where you can order your creation to go if you don’t have time to savor it. Second, the design of the place is so aesthetically pleasing (and very “instagramable” for you to show off to all your friends). The milk is served in an old-fashioned milk bottle that you get to keep and reuse. Last but not least, the utensil of choice is a spoon-straw combo. When you finish your cereal, you get to slurp directly from the same contraption. Genius marketing, Mr. Fieg.

The Lowdown: It’s a customizable cereal bar starting at $6 a pop and goes upward depending on how many treats you want in your cereal. They also have pre-thought out recipes for you to try if you don’t have the creative juices to think of a good concoction. When I went, I did both.  I ordered 1) The Bam Bam (by Action Bronson). This had: Rice Krispies Treats, Cookie Crisp, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Kit Kat, Oreo, Marshmallow Charms and Skim Milk. Tell me that doesn’t sound like heaven in your mouth? If it doesn’t, then it’s most definitely a burst of sugary goodness that might make you question how you’ve been eating cereal all your life. I also ordered 2) Honey Bunches of Oats and Cinnamon Toast Crunch sprinkled with Nestle Bar Crunch and Whole Milk.

This totaled to $16. Worth the trip? Yes. Will I go here every week? No. (I can’t possibly pay this much money for cereal every morning). But will I go back? OH YEAH. The combination of flavors was amazing, and I felt like a little kid again where my possibilities were endless. Secretly, I also want another milk bottle and spoon-straw.
